Well-Made; Needs More CushioningThis is a well-designed and well-made shoe for walking or hiking.
I found it to run a little narrow in the toe box, so I had to get a half size larger and the wide width (I normally wear an 11.5 regular, but kept the 12 wide). This works best with at least a medium cushion sock, but also works fine with a standard cushion sock.
I found the insole provided very little support, no arch, and was low density, resulting in discomfort even while standing still. When I substituted the higher quality insole from my old shoes, the comfort was very good to great. I intend to purchase a new aftermarket insole – I liked Montrail insoles, now owned by.Columbia, but they are no longer made.

Best of the bestThis is the 3rd pair of Crestwoods I’ve owned and is the only shoe I will use when hiking. They are very supportive and comfortable.

Grip like a summer sport tire.I have worn this shoe, and the standard shoe, for nearly a decade.
The waterproof shoe offers great protection from rain, splashing water and one or two inches of standing water. The waterproof shoe does keep your heat in so summers could be uncomfortable to some.
The sole of the waterproof shoe, and the standard shoe, are soft and very grippy. I have never slipped while walking, climbing ladders or lifting heavy items. The softness of the tread does give them a shorter lifespan so that is a tradeoff.
Not only would I buy them again, but I keep several boxes of the waterproof, and the standard shoe, in my closet.
